Jerry and Lynne Braatz
After visiting numerous alpaca farms and attending a weekend workshop sponsored by The Alpaca Toolbox, we decided that the alpaca lifestyle was right for us. We have found that is not only enjoyable but it is also very rewarding.

We had owned and operated a financial services business for over 30 years and wanted and needed a change. We researched the alpaca business extensively before we decided to actually purchase our first animals. With the assistance of The Alpaca Toolbox, and Song Hill Alpaca Farm we became alpaca owners in September 2004.

We sold our financial services business, cleared a few acres for pasture land, built a barn, erected a fence and have never looked back.

Jon and Chris Gray  
Jon and Chris joined Jersey Breeders as Operations and Marketing Mangers in February of 2010.  They bring to Jersey Breeders a vast and varied amount of experience having worked with alpacas since 2002.  For a number of years, they owned and operated Song Hill Alpacas Farm and Song Hill Alpaca Transport Service in upstate New York.  Jon and Chris have consulted with farms such as Heart's Desire Farm, Flying Pony Alpacas and several other farms across the United States.  Having this quality team at Jersey Breeders will advance our desire to mentor and assist new breeders with the tools necessary to enjoy alpacas as a business and a lifestyle.
